Atom LL, U11, 2014-2015 (Arran-Elderslie Minor Hockey)

What a great year for the Arran Elderslie Atoms.  

The Atom Ice Dogs worked together and found a way to win against the two toughest opponents in our division.

The Atoms wrapped up Back to Back wins heading into the holidays with a 5-2 Win over Bruce Pen 2 Friday night and a 6 - 0 win over Saugeen Shores 1 this afternoon. Great puck movement made it difficult for the opponents in both games.  The Atoms passing has really improved.   Friday's goals came from the sticks of Jake, Logan, Ryan (2) and Nick.  Goals were assisted by Owen, Jake, Will, Rob (2), Jacob and Ivor.   Aiden's shutout on Saturday was secured with goals from Jake (2), Nathan (1st of the season), Nick (2), and Jakob.  Assisting today Nathan (2), Nick, and Jakob (2). The Shallow Lake Lakers came to Tara tonight with a very similar record to our Ice Dogs.  35 minutes of exciting hockey changed nothing in the standings when the game ended in a 1 - 1 tie.  What a great effort by all.  Both teams had great chances throughout and both goalies were up to the task tonight.  Looking forward to another game with the Lakers in January.  However, up next we have Bruce Peninsula 2 in Lion's Head on Sunday.  Let's Go Ice Dogs!

The Bruce Peninsula Predators team 1 came to Chesley with determination and drive this past Sunday night.  For two periods they caught our Ice Dogs flat footed and led the game 2 to 0 after the first 20 minutes of play.  Good teams always rise to the occasion and the Ice Dogs came to life in the third.  Our first goal, by Jake made it 2-1.  Ryan tied the game with 8:19 left in the third and Jakob netted the winner with just under 3 minutes left to play.  3 unanswered goals by the Ice Dogs were enough to get the win.  The next challenge is to welcome the Shallow Lake Lakers Thurs.
