Solid Start to the Season
The Peewee Reps Ice Dogs lead by Coach Norm and company looked very good in their two season opener exhibition games.
The Dogs were able to calm the Saugeen Shores Storm during the first home game. Our team demonstrated a lot of speed on the ice causing the Storm to take a lot of penalties in an attempt to slow them down. However this left the Storm shorthanded many times during the game, with the Dogs capitalizing in a 3-0 win. The second was an away game with the dreaded rival Shallow Lake Lakers. It was a very exciting game with back and forth action between the two teams all game. The Dogs where the first to grace the scoreboard and held the lead for a while but then Lakers started to click tying the game. The second and third periods was an all-out battle and saw one team go ahead which was quickly answered by the other evening the score. The Lakers were lucky there was a game curfew In effect as the Dogs were controlling the last half of the third and the end result was a 5-5 tie. Keep up the good work team the 'real' season starts this week.
