Mites have their first games of the season!!!
Our Mite whites played their first 2 games of the season and what games they were.......
the players played like never before!! On Sunday, February 9th, we traveled to Shallow Lake to play team # 1. Our mites enjoyed the whole experience of a different dressing room, to new ice and the concept of turn-taking on the bench, plus having "real refs"!! It was a great game with lots of speed, passing and cheering on our team-mates. The entire coaching staff were proud of our team as they displayed sportsmanship to both our team and the Lakers!! The key was to have fun and the smiles on the bench certainly reflected this!!
On Saturday, February 15th, Lakers # 2 traveled to our home barn in Paisley. The stands were full of cheering parents, grandparents and fans from both sides, and they were treated with a great game. Our Mites were strong on the passing and keeping the puck in the Lakers end. The team spirit was there, maybe our Mites have caught the Olympic fever?! The game was filled with many first's for our team, from passing, scoring, cheering and giving coach Al a nasty stare as he cheered for the Lakers as they scored a great goal!! Again, very proud of each player as they gave it their best!! Our Mites even gave coach Scott a special birthday gift, by singing him "Happy Birthday" after the game. What more could a coach ask for?!
Come prepared for a great practice on Wednesday the 19th in Tara at 6pm!!
