Coach leaves tie in his pocket, IceDogs lose 3-2
Pushing and fighting to the end the Atom Girls IceDogs lost 3-2 to the Mount Forest Rams Friday night in Chesley.

In period one it was a slow start for the Icedogs.  At the 6 minute mark the puck slipped through the feet of two of the IceDogs defense and goalie making it 1-0 Rams. Though the IceDogs tried to clear it out of their end the rams kept dropping it into the corner.  Goal 2 for Mount Forest was a nice pass out of the corner right to the forward in front of the net and in.

In the second period while the crowd waited for the IceDogs to turn it around the Rams kept their heads and scored again.  Bringing the score to 3-0 Rams.  Then Emily Ma. breaks away from the pack and finally puts one on the board for the IceDogs with a little over 4 mins remaining in the 2nd. That goal lit a fire under the IceDogs and with 16 seconds remaining Jaydn fought her way through the defense and flipped one off the goalies head and into the net!

The IceDogs gave it all they had through the third period. Fought it out right to the end.  The Rams drew two penalties trying to keep them at bay. Jaydn was knocked down in front of net with 48 seconds to go.  However noone could find the back of the net. Final Score 3-2 Rams.

Perhaps if Coach Dennis had worn the tie instead of keeping it in his pocket they could have found one more goal, it appears that fashion really does matter.  What a great game, with some amazing moments for our players and a tonne of phenomenal saves by Goaltender Ashlynn.

Next games is Monday December 3rd at 6PM in Teeswater vs the Teeswater-Mildmay Otters.

Next home game is Saturday January 12th at 9:30am in Chesley Vs the Walkerton Capitals.

Hope to see you at the game!
