U15 IceDogs and Sailors Earn a Tie
The Goderich Sailers were visiting Paisley for a Saturday afternoon matinee with your U15 IceDogs.

The IceDogs were fresh off a win in Drayton where they didn't play particularly well but won.  They vowed to be better on this day and they were.  Much better.

Things started off pretty well for the 'Dogs as they stormed the Sailor zone and drew a couple of early penalties.  Brayden P. and Riley J. worked together to feed Chris P for a one timed beauty and the IceDogs had a 1-0 lead.  The period was all IceDogs and they would score another with Riley J. lead a 3 on 2 rush.  A juicy rebound found it's way onto Ethan S. stick and he buried the rebound before the buzzer and the IceDogs were full marks with a 2-0 lead.

The 2nd period had the Sailors getting in more penalty trouble but the IceDogs couldn't get the next goal.  The IceDogs seemed to let go of the momentum for a bit and the Sailors bit back with 2 quick goals at the end of the period and it was 2-2 at the flood.

The 3rd period was ALL IceDogs but the Sailor goalie proved equal to the task.  Shot after shot was stopped (and the rebounds too!).  The IceDogs were robbed on several occasions and on this afternoon the Sailor goalie was the difference.  Our own tendy, Owen W. wasn't as busy but was also sharp when he needed to be, keeping the tie preserved late.  The IceDogs did a tremendous job managing the puck in the late going to earn themselves a well-deserved point.

No one plays to tie--and we probably deserved better but we will raise our sticks to their goalie who played extremely well.  No time to dwell on this one--another game looms large on Sunday as the IceDogs visit the Lakers in a battle of two top teams in the League.
