IceDogs Win Game 4 in Dramatic Fashion!
This was it.  Game 4 Deciding Game.  With a trip to the WOAA Finals and the OMHA Provincial Tournament on the line.  The stage was set for a great game.  And for the hundreds in attendance, it didn't disappoint.

The Tara Cyclone Taylor Arena was packed and the nervous crowd looked on as the IceDogs and MadDogs prepared for the deciding game.  Minto would get on the board early in this one when another puck squirted loose and found its way behind Aidan S.  But Aidan would slam the door shut after that, making several larcenous saves to give his team a chance.  Owen M. would score on the PP after Alek F and Jesse P. made great checks to strip MadDog defenders.  The crowd would come alive and give the IceDogs a much needed burst of energy as the first period came to a close.

The 2nd period was only a minute old when Ethan S. went to work.  A great rush and snipe gave the IceDogs the lead and 6 minutes later, he would score another beauty with a bar downer to give the IceDogs a 3-1 lead.  With the MadDoggs on their heels, the IceDogs kept coming.  Porter B. would find a streaking Brayden P. with the pass of the year (maybe the decade) and Brayden would burst in alone to give the IceDogs a 4-1 lead.  The crowd was going wild now and the Cyclone Taylor Arena was jumping.

It was calm and collected IceDog dressing room during the flood and the IceDogs just wanted to get back out there.  But, as it happened so many times in this series, the MadDogs didn't quit.  And it was ol' #13 that got his team back into it.  A hard shot that just eluded Aidan S. would get them within 2.  But the IceDogs have learned a lot of lessons this year and one is how to play with the lead.  Playing their patented pesky pressure game, Carter M. would collect a loose puck and get a Mole Goal to put the IceDogs back on top by 3.  With the IceDogs seemingly in complete control, a couple of really really bad bounces would end up in the IceDog net (Minto was nothing if not extraordinarily opportunistic) but with the crowd given the IceDogs all the support they needed, the IceDogs would win this one 5-4.

Ticket punched to the WOAA Finals.  Ticket punched to the OMHA Provincial Tournament.  And ticket punched on overcoming adversity.  With Covid, lockdowns, online learning all behind them, this IceDog team is over that hurdle and ready to play their next opponent.

And they don't have to wait long.  Game 1 of the WOAA Final is this Sunday, March 27 @ 1:30 in Tara.  Let's pack the rink and give these boys the support they deserve.
