Down, but not out!!
Wednesday night your U11 Reps had a full house as they took on the Kincardine Kinucks for a tie breaker game. It was a fast action packed game, and we are so proud of this crew playing short one Defense player we had our work cut out for us!

Like I said before Playoff hockey hits different, anything can and will happen. We started off short and unable to get a player from our Taxi Squad and Kincardine came with a score to settle.
Icedogs hit the ice looking fresh and prepared, the puck dropped and they were off. Kincardine was like a mass of black and orange, just all over the place, including in the way.  Their players were everywhere but in their position making it hard to get a shot on net, but with Jackson Ms hard battle work in the neutral zone he was able to split the D and score his 20th of the season, with the assist going to our girl Avery W putting Icedogs up 1-0. But like I said the Kinucks came to play and tied it up just a minute later. With some end to end action it was Icedogs turn again to take the lead, scoring just 1:24 later Bennett B unloads a wrist shot, post and in with the assist going to Bronson B lifting Icedogs up 2-1. But once again the Kinucks were quick to answer knotting it up at 2 just a minute later. Time ran out and the period was over.
Second period was nothing like the first, Jack T was solid in net making some incredible saves and our strong  defense holding the Kinucks back. With a lot of end to end play and a lot of whistles for icing, Icedogs were starting to tire. Landry W coming off the bench fresh pots the garbage laying out front assisted by 2 tired defensemen Avery W and Bronson B landing the Icedogs a 3-2 lead after 2.
Third period, today this one was only 10 minutes, but those 10 minutes stung. Icedogs got in a little penalty trouble for body contact and the Kinucks capitalized on the power play tying it up at 3, but they were not done yet. With tired defense and Jack getting peppered in net it was only a matter of time before they found the back of the net 2 more times giving them a 5-3 lead. The wind was taken from our sails, but your U11s gave one more crack at trying to get those goals back, time was running out and Landry W gets in a sticky situation in front of the net getting him sent to the Sin Bin (Avery was out of the woods today). Buzzer goes and that ends the third. Those 5 minutes may have helped us but thats Playoff hockey for you!
Next Action your U11 Reps are heading to Midland to partake in the Elmvale Maple Syrup Tournament March 11-13.
