Keeping the streak Alive
After a week of no games your U11 Reps were ready for action. On Thursday December 16, Icedogs hosted the Kinucks in an action packed, nail biting, on the edge of your seat, or in my case stool, as I had a birds eye view from the scorekeepers box, type of game.

Puck drops and the clock starts counting down, just a couple minutes into the first and the Icedogs are on the board first "this goal is for you Paysen"! Connor H nets the puck assisted by Jackson M. Man I thought the moms were loud,, being so close to the bench I would have to say Coach Brent and Coach Jay take the cake. Kids following direction from the coaches and the hard work pays off, Hunter T sets up Jackson M and as Landry W would say it was "pass to pass, Hunter to Jackson, tape to tape, BEAUTY!" First period would end with Icedogs being up 2.
Second period would see Kinucks score, just 15 seconds in to be exact. Score is now 2-1, this is where the edge of the seats comes into play.. we played the game of keep away, keep the puck out of our end, and pass pass pass... defense was once again solid and Jack making some key saves, the score stayed at 2-1 for most of the second, with the hard work down low from himself and his 2012 left winger Hunter T draws another assist as Connor H puts the Icedogs up 3-1 with 1:29 left on the clock.
Third period, que the goals. For some reason we seem to wait till the 3rd to shine, but not before letting the Kinucks tie it up scoring the first 2 goals of the period. Both teams now showing 3s on the board, with some end to end action both Icedogs and Kinucks struggled most of the period in the scoring department, but at 6:13 of the third the game winning goal would be scored by Connor H earning him a hat trick assisted by Avery W. Kinucks pulled their goalie to get the extra man on the ice, but couldn't take advantage of the situation allowing Landry W to take control on a turn over and scoring the empty netter, giving Icedogs a 5-3 final. Happy to report that this game we didn't have any problems in the math department earning a penalty free game. Woohoo!!
Next action, Icedogs host Listowel in Paisley On Saturday December 18 at 12:15.
