IceDogs Clip Falcons!
The AEMHA PeeWee LL IceDogs had a quite a break between games and were raring to go in the friendly confines of the Chesley Arena as they hosted the Hanover Falcons.

The IceDogs definitely had to shake off the rust in the opening frame since not playing for a few weeks and while they weren't terrible, Hanover put up a 2 spot after some turn overs just inside the IceDog blue line.  For those in attendance, the scoreboard said 2-0 Falcons but there was a long way to go in this one and the IceDog bench was brimming with positive vibes as they vowed to get back in this one.

The 2nd period saw the ice began to tilt in the IceDogs favour and Ryan P. would get the party started, picking up a couple of breakout passes from Randi-Lynn J., and Tyler B.  Outracing a couple of Falcons to the loose puck, Ryan would pick the corner and the IceDogs were off and running.  Riley J got in on the action and went for a rush, a la Paul Coffey, deking out everyone on the ice, but put the puck off both posts and the puck somehow stayed out.  Shortly after, Bryson R. would out hustle not 1 but 2 Falcon defenders and get the puck to a wide open George I.  George would fire a low hard one and knot things up at 2 as Casey fired up the Zamboni to refresh the ice for the big 3rd period.

The 2nd period intermission has not been kind to the IceDogs this season but the calendar had flipped to 2020 and the IceDogs vowed to change things.  And change things they did.  Coach Julie had put Randi-Lynn on the wing with Ryan and Lance a few games ago and you could tell the 3 had some chemistry from the get go, despite not putting up big numbers.  But tonight, the move paid off as Lance won a big draw and a puck battle and fed a wide open Randi-Lynn who deposited the puck into the back of the net for a 3-2 lead.  Next, Lance blew by the Falcon defence and sucked a couple of checks with him.  He fed a beauty pass to a streaking Ryan P. who fired a laser into the net and the IceDogs quickly had a 4-2 lead.  IceDog tendy Nathan A. went to work as the Falcons pressed.  Making the difficult saves look easy, Nathan turned aside the Falcon shooters.  As time ticked off the clock, Ryan P. would work the puck down low and after some good puck battles, feed George I. out front for the tap in and the IceDogs would win going away 5-2.

Great game 'Dogs!!!  The 2nd and 3rd were two of the best periods of the year and this team is hitting its stride as the regular season comes to a close.  Next up, the IceDogs travel to Hanover to face another Falcon squad, looking to keep the great play going!
