IceDogs Rebound with a Hard-working Win
This year's edition of the Atom Rep IceDogs has had a motto from Day 1--outwork the other team.  When they do it, they are a very hard team to play against.  They did it on Friday night.

The IceDogs were coming off a hard fought loss versus Huron-Bruce and were looking to get back into the win column as they faced off against the Bruce Peninsula Predators.  Things didn't exactly start off well as a bad bounce ended up squirting into the IceDog net in the first minute of play.  But the IceDogs weathered that storm and Ethan S. would deke around everybody in the rink, including the Zamboni driver, and put one home to get his team on the board.  That seemed to fire up the IceDogs and Ethan would collect another puck (after some hard work by Alek F. along the boards) and rip a back hand dart into the net and the IceDogs had a 2-1 lead at the first recess.

The 2nd period had the IceDogs checking and firing on all cylinders and smooth skating Karden C. would find a wide open Owen M. all alone in front for another goal and the IceDogs were up 3-1.  The IceDogs continued to skate and win puck battles all over the ice.  Jesse P. gained the zone on rush and worked the puck to the net where Brayden P. found the rebound and gave the IceDogs a 3 goal cushion as the 2nd period came to a close.

The 3rd period had the Predators get into a bit of penalty trouble and on a 2-man advantage, Carter G. and Jesse P would get quality shots away.  Brayden P. picked up the trash with a power play goal and the IceDogs were humming to the tune of 5-1.  Some great back checks by Owen M., Brayden P. and Alek F. would turn away some Predator rushes and Peyton L. was solid between the pipes to lead his team to victory.

A shoutout to Owen W. who made his Atom Rep debut on defence and did a tonne of little things right.  Hudson J. was his usual steady self, making all the simple plays.  It was a great team effort and the way this team has to play if they want to win.  They will look to keep it going Sunday when the West-Grey Warriors pay a visit to Paisley.
