Icedogs Firing On All Cylinders
Our Novice REP Icedogs traveled down Hwy 6 south for a matchup against the Mount Forest Jr Patriots last night and opened up strong right from the 1st faceoff of the game

Icedogs began the 1st period with about 6 minutes of solid zone play in Mount Forest end which resulted in Icedogs netting their first goal, scored by Paysen Hamel assisted by Landry Wathke and Jordie Stephen. Sweet Willy Hampton was nothing but solid in the net only facing just 4 shots in the period and stopping all 4.
To start the 2nd period Icedogs allowed Mount Forest some back and forth hockey but once again it was our solid 5 defense (Brock, Trenton, Avery, Landon, and Cole) not allowing any shots to get through to the net.  At the 5 minute mark of the 2nd period Jackson Mannerow's line jumped on a loose puck in the neutral zone and started a rush in on net, Calhon Urbshott fed the puck through a crowd and Hunter Thompson tipped it aside to Jackson Mannerow who slid it along the ice just under Mt Forest goalies left pad to take the Icedogs to 2-0 lead. Near the end of the 2nd period Paysen Hamel was in his wheelhouse at the side of the net and buried a beautiful backhander assisted by his line mates Landry and Jordie. Icedogs now up 3-0 and fell back a wee bit on their heals and allowed Mt Forest to jump on the board scoring 1 on Sweet Willy, but that lit a fire and even with penalty trouble throughout the 3rd Icedogs found what was left in the tank along with some spectacular save from Sweet Will Hampton and finished strong with a 3-1 win. Next action for Icedogs is Friday night 7pm in Tara when Huron Bruce travels to town.
