Icedogs fall short during a blizzard to the Huron Bruce Blizzards
After a snowy drive down south to meet Huron Bruce in Lucknow, Icedogs took to the big ice surface and came out a little soft with Huron Bruce getting on the board early in the 1st period and taking a 3-0 lead early on.
At the end of the 1st period coaches and kids had a good chat and Icedogs were a new team for the 2nd period and played Huron Bruce back and forth with some great plays and managed to net 2 goals, keeping score now 5-2 and still within 3, Icedogs 1st goal was scored by Jackson Mannerow assisted by Calhon Urbshott, then Hunter Thompson took a great wrist shot from top of the circle to give Icedogs their second goal. Icedogs defense was stellar in the 2nd period with some awesome plays to help out their goalie and eliminate some shots. 3rd period Huron Bruce were able to score 2 more making it a 7-2 final outcome. Sweet Willy Hampton faced 23 shots on net and once again did his job in the crease keeping the spread to just 5 goals.
Next action Icedogs travel to Flesherton Saturday for an 11:15am exhibition game.
