Rebels and Icedogs squared off on this spring like afternoon in Paisley.
Both teams came out and played hard, battling back and forth with some end to end hockey.
Both goalies were tested early in the first but managed to keep a scoreless game. Late in the first Icedogs let one Rebel in just a little too tight and they managed to net one with just 2 minutes remaining. At the end of the first Icedogs seemed to be tired so coaches reminded kids to keep those feet moving going into the 2nd.
Starting off the second period just 47 seconds in Rebels snuck a 2nd one past Will Hampton just one minute later Rebels took a 3-0 lead with a long shot that trickled in from the blue line. Will Hampton gathered up his game and stood strong for the remainder of the 2nd.
Icedogs came out flying for the start of the 3rd period getting lots of shots on net, but Rebels goalie was just too good. Mid way through the 3rd Rebels took a penalty but Icedogs couldn't capitalize on the power play. With just under 2 minutes to go Icedogs pulled their goalie for some 6 on 5 hockey and played the better part of 1 minute in the Rebels zone but couldn't find the back of the net leaving the score 3-0 for the Rebels. Up next Icedogs travel to Mildmay for a one day Tourney. GO ICEDOGS GO!!
