PeeWee LL IceDogs FaceOff in Grudge Match vs TCDMHA
The AEMHA PeeWee LL team's season wasn't quite over yet....TCDMHA called for a re-match Monday night in Desboro.

The IceDogs were short a few players but that meant everybody had to be on their game, even after a couple of weeks off.  Playing in a small barn, the IceDogs took Coach Chris's word to heart and had their legs moving and created multiple scoring chances off the start.  Ryan P and Avery D. would walk in all alone on breakaways but were denied on their backhand dekes.  Ben M had several chances to pot the opening goal but the Rebel goaltender was equal to the task.  In fact, if it wasn't for the Rebel goalie, the IceDogs would have probably won this one going away.

Larkin G. would net a hard-working goal to start the 2nd period.  With Gavin and Avery working the puck down low, Larkin would collect the puck behind the Rebel net and her centring pass would ricochet into the Rebel net to get the IceDogs on the board.  Terrific defensive play from all 4 defenders (Colby, Nayal, Dameyn and Ben) would lead to several scoring chances and the Rebels were one and done on most of their chances.  Noah wasn't busy but had to be sharp to keep the score 1-0 after 2 periods of play.

The third period had the IceDogs really working hard defensively but their hard-work on defence would lead to turn-overs and great outlet passes from the D would lead to some dangerous rushes for the IceDogs.  Ben would ring one off the pipes to almost get the 'Dogs a 2-0 lead midway through the frame and Ryan P fed a wide open Gavin H. who had a dangerous shot denied by the hot Rebel goalie.  Noah J. would make a glovely save to keep the shut-out in tact and great line changes and unselfish play kept the players fresh and the pressure on the Rebels as time ticked off the clock.  The IceDogs would end their season (for real this time) with a hard-earned, well-deserved 1-0 win.

A well-played game from start to finish and this team proves once again how much fun the game of hockey can be when you play the game the right way.   Now, go enjoy the off-season IceDogs and see you at the rink next year!
