PeeWee LL IceDogs Firing On All Cylinders in Win vs Storm!
You know how some wins are just a bit sweeter than others?  Well, the AEMHA PeeWee LL IceDogs earned a very sweet, very hard-earned and well deserved win in Paisley Monday night as they faced off against the Saugeen Shores Storm.

With the IceDogs coming off a bitter loss in Hanover on the weekend, they were eager to weather the Storm on Monday night.  With Coach Chris settling the players down and getting them focused to execute the game plan, things didn't start out all roses.  A little miscommunication in the crease let the Storm collect a loose puck and shovel the puck by a surprised Noah J.  That was enough to snap the IceDogs to life and they went to work with the ice decidedly titled toward the Storm end for the rest of the period.  With time winding down in the first, the IceDogs were coming but couldn't get the equalizer.

The 2nd period might have been the most complete period of the season to date.  With all lines applying pressure the beleaguered Storm goalie began to wilt.  Alex S. would bury a low hard one after Ben M. and Dylan P. worked the puck to the net.  The IceDogs continued to outwork and out-hustle the Storm, collecting loose pucks and supporting one another all over the ice.  The Storm were having a hard time matching the IceDogs speed and determination and were lucky to escape the 2nd with the score tied at ones.

The Storm looked like they were going to come out stronger in the third but it blew over quick.  The IceDogs went right back to the attack and a make-shift line of Ben M-Ryan P and Larkin G. worked the puck all over the Storm zone before Larkin eventually found the back of the net.  With the Storm fading, the IceDogs continued to light the lamp as Dylan fired in a wrister off a rebound from Colby H.  Next, Austin G., playing Norris Trophy calibre hockey in this one, collected a pass from Rachel L and made a sweet deke to put the IceDogs up 4-1.  Colby H. would finish off the scoring with a buzzer beater after Gavin H. worked the puck across the blue line.  The IceDogs would collect the 2 points at home and give goaltender Noah J. some bragging rights at school tomorrow.

While they didn't hit the scoresheet, Nayal, Dominick and Daemyn did yoemen's (or in Nayal's case, yoelady) work on the blue line and turned the Storm back every chance they got.  Avery D. was solid in the face-off circle and Eric G. was a force to be reckoned with in the corners.

It was a complete and total team effort and it was nice to see the IceDogs rewarded for their hard work.  Even the coach's got in on the action during the post game hand shake!  These IceDogs are coming together at the right time and I wish everyone could hear how they support each other on the bench and play for that logo on the front of their jerseys.  I said it once and I'll say it again, some wins are just a little sweeter than others, right IceDogs?
