PeeWee LL IceDogs Battle Hard Against First Place Blades
The AEMHA PeeWee LL IceDogs hit the ice in Teeswater to battle the South-Bruce Blades this evening.  The week off has rejuvenated the 'Dogs and they look to "just bring it!" after a season worst loss against the Blades last time out.

After some bulletin board material came to light, the IceDogs were a determined bunch right off the opening face-off.  The line of Larkin-Ryan-Eric was humming all night and almost got the 'Dogs on the board early with a couple of hard-fought battles in front of the net and a breakaway.  Austin G. was threading the needle with breakout passes that haven't been seen since the days of the '80's Oilers.  Dylan P, playing centre for the first time this season, showed off some silky mitts with a tremendous move to the net but the IceDogs couldn't get on the board.  The score was tied at zeros after one period of play.

The second period saw the play open up and players on both sides capitalized.  The Blades would get the ice-breaker early on but Avery D. would tip in a hard point shot from Captain Colby and the IceDogs were off and running.  The Blades aren't in first place for nothing though and would pot a couple of quick goals to go up by a pair as the period neared completion.  Colby wouldn't stand for that however and ripped a sharp angle shot to get the IceDogs back in the game.  The period would end with the Blades nursing a 1 goal lead and the IceDogs were coming on.  The Larkin-Ryan-Eric line peppered the Blades goalie as the 2nd period buzzer sounded, much to the relief of the Blades' coaching staff.

The South-Bruce arena staff must have turned up the heat in the IceDogs dressing room as the 'Dogs came out a little dozy to begin the third.  The Blades would get another couple of quick goals to take a 5-2 lead early in the frame.  The IceDogs woke up though and were coming on strong once again.  The Blades goalie proved equal to the task however and the horn would sound, with the Blades hanging on to a 5-2 win.

Nothing to hang our heads about here IceDogs...A very well played game with lots to build on!  Next up, the IceDogs head to Shallow Lake as they will try to sink the Lakers.
