Weekend Wrap Up
This past weekend was a busy one for the Novice Rep IceDogs. 2 games and a practice squeezed in to make it a great hockey weekend.
First up was a battle in Lionshead on a cold snowy Friday night. The rink was packed in anticipation of a great performance by the home team. The Predators did play well, however they were met with a formidable goalie in Aiden S. and active forwards and defence who came ready to play. The IceDogs attacked every chance they got and ended up with a nice 7-1 win.
The next day the players hit the ice for an early morning skate - just to go over a few things that were lacking the night before. A healthy skate and upbeat practice and it was time to get ready for the next game.
Sunday, a matinee game versus the TCDMHA at the Tara rink. This was the first time the two teams saw each other this year and it was a good one.
Once again the IceDogs battled hard and attacked the Rebels at every chance. Both teams battled hard, again the opposing team met a determined netminder, this time Michael M. who challenged the Rebels and made it almost impossible to get anything by him. The game was highlighted by many players playing their best of the season - Jesse P, Carter M. Connor B to name a few. Gryphon B had the hat trick for this game while Avery W was a superstar on defence. Owen W ans Cohen H led the rest of the defence with ferocious battles, making the Rebels think twice ever time they touched the puck.
The end result was a 7-2 victory for the IceDogs and a great all around team effort for this one.
Great weekend guys! This team is starting to come together!
