IceDogs Lakers Battle on Remembrance Day
On the Sunday of Remembrance Day, the Shallow Lake Lakers headed south to Tara for a matinee game vs the Novice Rep IceDogs

Coming off a big win the previous day the Lakers showed up ready for battle. However, the IceDogs - coming off a weekend made up of learning experiences and new situations as well of a better understanding of what is expected of them - were hungry and ready to play.  From the drop of the puck the ice seemed to be tilted in the Laker end the whole game.  The IceDogs were like a dog on a bone - relentlessly attacking and always creating pressure for the Laker players.  The boys skated hard always moving their legs and created chances.

The defense crew made up of Cohen H, William M, Aden M and Waylon G played beautifully pinching and keeping pucks in the Laker end and when the puck occasionally entered the IceDog end, moved the puck up and out or got in the way causing all kind of issues for the Lakers.  When needed, goalie Michael M was ready and stood his ground stopping everything he saw.

The forwards battled in the corners and checked the Laker players, taking away their time and space.  Shots were taken but nothing could get by the Laker goalie.

In the end, it was a hard fought effort by both teams resulting in a 0-0 tie.

Good game IceDogs. Let's keep it going and get ready for West Grey next weekend!
