Another nail biter for the Ice Dogs ends in a close 5-4 win.
The midget LL ice Dogs pull out a close end of the game win against the Saugeen Shores Storm just before our tournament in Peterborough.

We jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first as Chayse started it all from a nice feed from Noah. Later after a big slapper from Conlan, Andrew put in the rebound to go up 2-0. To end the first Mitch took a shot from in the slot and Brandon scooped up the rebound and we were up 3-1.

We were out shooting them pretty good and to reward us Tie got it over to Gavin and in it went, putting us up 4-2 going into the third period.

While the ice was getting watered down between periods, the SSS coaches must've gave the team a good talk over as they came out with a sense of urgency, skating all over us. Later in the period Chayse passed to Andrew and bang, in it went. Two late goals by the Storm made it 5-4 and they pulled their goalie with .51 seconds left for an extra attacker, doing what their last name was, storming in our end. Noel used what we can do in the playoffs, by calling a smart time out in our end with 9.2 seconds left to remind the boys what our jobs were to end the game. It all played out for us as the buzzer rang with a 5-4 win for the Ice Dogs.

Nice way to end the game going to the tournament ....Go Ice Dogs Go :-)
