IceDogs Nip By Rebels
Menacing Merri reporting:   IceDogs and the Rebels played a great game of hockey in Chesley on Friday night.  Fast skating, good passing and focus on the game saw a 3 to 2 win for the Dogs, (despite some dyslexic scorekeeping by officals).

IceDogs and Rebels have great game to watch, with the fast skating and playmaking. IceDogs were first on the board, with a pass from Conlan to Chayse at 11:11.  The Rebels had to work off three almost back to back penalties this period, from hooking to a trip on Mason.  The Dogs didn't get to capitalize on the extra man,and in one case, two extra men, when our goalie took off to the bench.  Rebels tested Bradley with 10 seconds left, but he put the pad down on that attempt.
Second period had more of the great back and forth action that reminds you of a tennis match.  Goalies on both ends had lots to contend with. Rebels tied it up at 9:03 and then went ahead to 4:15.  However, Chayse brought out the mighty hammer out for a solo tour to tie it at 2 to 2.  Or....if you have dyslexia, 2 to 5.  (It looks better on the board...but for the wrong team!)
After the ice received a good cleaning, both teams were determined to make the third period their own.  Neither team was interested in getting penalties.  At 9:35, a battle in front of the Rebel goalie proved that persistence pays off and Tie and his line put the Dogs ahead.  Our goalie kept us there with a stop while screened at 4:46.  In the last two minutes, however, the Dogs received a penalty that should not have been ours but serve it we did and held on to a 3 to 2 win.
A fine game!
