Down in Blyth, things get a little different for the Midget Ice Dogs.
Sunday afternoon wasn't a day of rest as the Midget Ice Dogs and the Blyth-Brussels Crusaders took each other on.

New addition Joey joined the team and as he can see we can score starting with Chayse who started things with a pass to Conlan, who tapped the puck in. BB replied with a goal soon after but Conlan again rushed in after taking the puck from their defenceman and with a slick shot fired it in the low corner. Brandon then passed to Brock in a scramble in front of the net and in it slid. Gavin carried the puck in and shot, and Chayse got the rebound and snap, its in. A quiet first period ended us up 4-1.
The second had Mason begin the scoring as he skated into the slot and fired in the high right side of the net. Later after a Brandon pass to Brock, his shot was like slow motion as the puck slowly made its way into the corner of the net. Then off the faceoff Mitch wristed a goal threw the five hole. Brad then dipsy doodled his way down the ice and passed to Conlan, who put it in, and he got promptly steamrolled in front of the net. Having only two linesmen and no Ref raised a few eyebrows in the cozy arena. Brad again had a helper in a goal, as Brock put it in top shelf, with Bradley making some super saves during the period. We ended up getting a checking from behind and a game misconduct and this was the beginning of more physical stuff to come.
The third had a lot of teenage energy but we continued to score as JD scored in a scramble followed by another and last goal of the game when Brandon passed over to Gavin and in it went. At 1:37 to go there was a big scrum in front of BB's net, one of many scrums in this period, which filled the penalty boxes and this game finally ended with a 11-1 win.
Way to tough it out Ice Dogs !!!
