Playoff Game #3 - Ohhhh Baby! IceDogs Win in OT!!!
The IceDogs White hit the ice for a Sunday afternoon matinee with the Owen Sound Attack Gold Team...and ohhhhhh baby (in the words of Bob Cole), this one was a beauty!

The IceDogs came out of the gate a little bit sluggish and were down 2-0 while the standing room only crowd were still getting settled into their seats.  It seemed like it wasn't meant to be as every mistake led to an Attack chance but Dylan L. (channelling his inner Grant Fuhr) shut the door.  The TSN turning point might have been at the end of the period when Dylan made a 10 bell save to keep the game close at the buzzer.

The 2nd period started with an IceDog rush by Jesse P.  With the Attack keeping a close eye on the IceDog sniper, he slipped a drop pass to Brayden P who wired it past the Attack goalie to get the IceDogs on the board.  But this Attack team is tough and buried a couple more chances to go up 4-1.  That's when Carter M. took matters into his own hands and lit the lamp with a dandy triple deke and shot to get the IceDogs within striking distance.  Brayden P would wrap in a goal from behind the net and the period ended with the IceDogs coming on strong, still trailing 4-3.

The 3rd period was a see-saw affair with both teams trading chances and both goalies coming up big.  Ashley L and Jake F. would team up for an early chance but couldn't nick the twine.  With time winding down and the IceDogs ready to pull the goalie, Brayden P and Cohen H. connected on a couple of passes to spring Jesse on a breakaway---Jesse would put the puck and himself into the net to knot things up at 4 with 1:49 left to play.  A couple more IceDog chances ended the period but this one was headed to Overtime.

Overtime was all IceDogs to start things off as the peppered the Attack goalie but couldn't get the puck to cross the line.  Cohen H. and Quinn C. had the shift of the year with some outstanding checks to keep the Attack out of the IceDog zone.   An Attack penalty led to some more chances but the Attack net minder stood his ground.  An IceDog penalty would see the teams play some 4 on 4 and Vivian W. let a cannonading drive go that just whistled wide.  With time winding down in OT, Brayden, Jesse and Porter went to work for one last shift.  Porter and Jesse had their shots stopped but the rebound bounced right to Brayden who put it in the back of the net for the OT winner....Big Win IceDogs!

Next up, the IceDogs will try to tame their IceDog cousins IceDog Black next Saturday.
