Playoff Game #2 - Saugeen Shores Defeat IceDogs in OT
The Arran-Elderslie IceDog Novice Whites hit the road for Game #2 of their Round Robin Playdowns.  On this night, they would have to tangle with the top team in the league, Saugeen Shores Storm #1.

The IceDogs were a fast skating, checking machine to start this one as they didn't give the Storm an inch.  Scoring chances were limited at both ends and Dylan L proved he was more than up to the challenge as he turned Storm players aside when they caught a break.  The first period ended with the scored tied 0-0.

The second period saw the IceDogs begin to get the territorial advantage but the Storm goaltender was standing tall.  The Storm would catch a break and net one on a breakaway to give them the 1-0 lead as the 2nd period came to an end.

The third period once again began with the IceDogs keeping the puck deep inside the Storm zone.  Jesse P and Brayden P would work a little magic in the neutral zone to get a scoring chance and Brayden would slip one in on a second chance to knot things up at 1.  The Storm would storm back with another breakaway goal to again go up by 1.  An IceDog penalty seemed to have sealed this one for the Storm but a tremendous penalty kill by Vivian, Quinn, Carter, Jake and Dylan would turn momentum in the IceDogs favour.  Brayden and Joey (who played a heck of a game!) would cause a turn over just inside the Storm zone and Jesse P made a no-doubter deke to tie the game at 2.  The third period would end with the score tied.

The IceDogs were primed and ready to start the OT period and stormed the Storm goalie with a flurry of passes and shots.  At the end of the shift, the Storm would break loose and pot the OT winner and get the 3-2 win.

Once again, the coaches were extremely proud of this group.  They handled themselves with class and poise and have a "never give up" attitude.  And most importantly, to a player, they want one more crack at that team to get that elusive win.

Next up, the IceDogs will host the Owen Sound Attack Gold squad on Sunday---2:00 puck drop at the Tara Cyclone Taylor Arena.
