Novice White IceDogs Weather the Storm
The Novice White IceDogs hosted the Saugeen Shores Storm 4 for a Saturday afternoon matinee.  And the IceDogs came to play.

The game began as a tight checking affair as the Storm goalie and IceDog tender Waylon G. made some big saves to keep the game scoreless.  Vivian W. was able to break free from her check and gingerly skate the puck into the Storm end, drawing the defenders away from the front of their net.  A quick turn and a lovely pass to wide open Carter M. in the slot and it was 1-0 IceDogs.

The second saw the play open up a bit and Jesse P took advantage.  After receiving a pass from a hard-working Porter B and a couple of "Dougie" dekes, he wrapped the puck in past the Storm goalie.  Brayden P would get in on the act with a dash to the net from the blue line and ripped a low, hard one to make it 3-0.  The Storm would get one back to get within 2 but Jesse once again set up in his office behind the Storm goalie.  This time he slipped a pass into the slot where Brayden was waiting to make it 4-1 'Dogs.

The IceDogs kept their foot on the gas as they began to take control of the game.  Cohen H would make a terrific cross ice pass to Brayden P who flew in off the wing and went backhand to make it 5-1 'Dogs.  The Storm would cut the deficit to three but Brayden P iced this one after a great check by Jesse P and another lovely pass from Cohen H.  All the IceDogs were relentless on the puck today as they checked the Storm from start to finish.  They might not have hit the scoresheet but Ashley L, Jake F., Quinn C., Dylan L., and Joey W. did all the little things right to keep the Storm at bay.

Next up, the IceDogs host the Lakers from Shallow Lake--7pm puck drop Monday in T-Town.
