Consolation Championship - Game 1
On Saturday March 11th, the Novice LL White Ice Dogs travelled to Southampton to face Saugeen Shores LL 4 in game 1 of the Consolation Championship series.

Both teams were pumped and ready for action from the first puck drop.
Each team had their fair share of scoring chances as well as playing equally as good in the own zones.  But it was the Storm who opened the scoring midway thru the first with a shot that was tipped in front of the net, then off the crossbar and in, leaving Ice Dog goalie, Karden C, no chance of stopping it.
Karden C and the Ice Dogs did a great job of shaking off the goal and getting back to work trying to even the score.
Nearing the end of the 2nd, while putting pressure on the Storm defense, the Ice Dogs were rewarded for their perseverance as Vivian W stripped the Storm player of the puck.  Lucas S picked up the puck, walked out of the corner and jammed it on net.  Calista H was able to get her stick on the rebound and pound it in.
Fans were treated to a third period nobody will soon forget with the Ice Dogs playing great team defence and Karden C making key saves when the team needed him.  That great play, in their own zone, led the Ice Dogs down the ice many times for great scoring opportunities.  But a solid Storm goalie held the Ice Dogs off.
With 95 seconds left the Storm were able to score the go ahead goal.  LL White gave one last push in the dying seconds of the game but were unable to even the score and were defeated 2-1.
Excellent effort Ice Dogs!
