Novice LL White vs SS Storm LL 2 Game 1 of 2

Novice LL White hosted Saugeen Shores LL 2 in Paisley on March 1 in game 1 of a 2 game round robin.

The Ice Dogs came out early in the first period ready to play.  They were able to keep the Storm in their own end for most of the first and all three lines created numerous scoring chances and put pressure on the Storm defenders and goalie.
Halfway thru the period, the Ice Dogs would get on the board when Randi Lynn J came off the side boards and made a hard, crisp pass right to Landon M who one-timed the puck perfectly into the net for his first goal of the season!
The very next shift it was Calista H passing the puck off to Chris P who netted his first goal of the game.
The Ice Dogs didn't stop there.
One minute later Lucas S was streaking up the ice and wristing one past the Storm net minder putting the Ice Dogs up three after one.
In the second period the Ice Dogs kept working and battling for loose pucks and it paid off when Lucas S took a pass from Braden N and buried his second goal of the game.  Ice Dogs took their lead to 5 goals when Chris P stole the puck from a Storm defender and beat the goalie for his second goal of the game as well.
The Storm would not go down without a fight and put pressure on the Ice Dogs late in the second and earned 2 goals just before the buzzer sounded giving SS a glimmer of hope.
After the break the Ice Dogs would settle down and continue the strong play that got them this far.  All three lines were rolling, every Ice Dog was playing their position and contributing to each play.  With 6 minutes left in the game, Calista H would cut across the crease and back hand the puck into the net.
As always, Karden C was in net for the Ice Dogs solid as a rock, looking confident and stopping the Storm when the LL White needed him.
Great game Ice Dogs!
