The TCDMHA Rebels might have thought it was a different IceDogs team they were facing when they met at game 2 of the Dave Taylor Memorial Tournament in Paisley on Saturday afternoon. These two teams have faced off 3 times since the beginning of the hockey season and each time it was bad news for the IceDogs.... in the double digits bad news.
This time was different. The IceDogs have been working hard in practice and it is paying off. IceDogs goaltender
Tyson L. showed the Rebels just how tough he could be in the first period. Making some amazing saves. Each team had plenty of scoring chances but the period would end 0-0.
Period two went much the same as period one. Each team getting their scoring chances. Each goaltender denying goal after goal. Then with only 1:13 left in the second the Rebels snuck one in.
Period three. More of the same. The IceDogs pushed to even the score. The Rebels pushed to widen the gap. The goaltenders kept denying the same. Then with just a little more than 3 minutes left in the game the Rebels caught a break. The IceDogs played to win right to the end but just could get that elusive goal out of the Rebels Goalie Seth R.
Final score 2-0 Rebels and the end of the tournament for the Atom Rep IceDogs.
