The Shallow Lake Lakers faced a whole new team of Atom Rep IceDogs Monday night in Tara. When they last faced off against each other the IceDogs were down players, had no AP's, the head coach was sick and one winger was turning green.
This time around they were still down a couple players but had a couple AP's to fill the gap. Everyone was healthy and the bench had a full staff. It was like a whole new team.
Period one was full of good battles for the puck and excellent scoring chances on both sides. Unfortunately for the IceDogs the Lakers got themselves on the board first with a lucky shot at 4:25. This was the last time either team would get on the board for scoring until the third period.
Ryan C. led the charge in the third period with a goal less than two minutes in, assisted by
Josh E. and Kaylan H. But that was all for the IceDogs. As fatigue kicked in over the period the Icedogs were unable to fend off the advances of the Lakers. The Lakers scored 3 times in the third to take home the 4-1 win.
