Progress noted
In the last match-up before Christmas, the Ice Dogs looked more like a team.  In a much closer affair, they came up short by 3, but at times gave Shallow Lake a good run.

Some of the early struggles of the Ice Dogs certainly have improved.  Yes, Tyson was still the main reason the game vs. first place Shallow Lake was close, but a lot of the cycling they demonstrated earlier in the year against us was non-existent last night in Paisley.  That speaks to some better defensive-zone coverage, and some notably improved break-out skill.  Most impressive last night might have been the Ice Dog passing.  Earlier in the year, you'd have been hard-pressed to see a pass or two in an entire game, but last night some of the pressure we had was off of actual rushes...with less lone ranger runs and more "heads up" plays.

Could all wingers press better offensively?  Yes.  Might we have had more shots on net with stronger sticks?  Yes.  But all in all, the team seemed more of a team last night, and that can only be a positive as play-offs loom just around the new-year's corner.

From the entire coaching staff to all players and their families, Merry Christmas.
