Ice Dog's Keep Their Composure
March 2: The PeeWee White Ice Dog's traded wins in back-to-back games with Shallow Lake. Wednesday night in Tara, saw a tight 4-3 overtime win for The Ice Dogs. The boys saved all their offense for the end of the game, scoring 3 goals in the third period! Brandon P-P started us off, assisted by Parker H., Ethan M. scored, assisted by Nick V. and Tom V. tallied the third goal, assisted by Ethan M. In overtime, Brock M. earned the Ice dogs the win,with helpers to Tom V. and Jakob K. This was a very "spirited" game that kept the referees and both team trainers busy.
The teams faced-off for a grudge match Saturday in Shallow Lake. The Lakers came away with a 8-6 win, but our young men came away with their heads held high. Unfortunately, this game was ugly from start to finish, with numerous penalties, cheap shots and some disturbing displays of aggression and poor sportsmanship. Ice Dog point-getters were Noah M. with 2 goals and an assist, Brock M. scored once and had 2 assists, Parker H. also had 1 goal and 2 helpers, and Tom V. had a goal and 3 assists. This game was as difficult to watch, as I'm sure it was to play, but good job Ice Dogs for keeping your tempers under control and trying to protect your team-mates!
