Lots of prowling for the Pee Wee Red Ice Dogs produced a mix bag of treats this past weekend.
It was a lot of ' run and gun ' hockey all weekend as we finished second in the consolation final in the Hanover tourney and came out on the short end of a hard fought 4-2 lose.
The first game in the tourney was against Georgian Shores and we played a good couple of periods, but the one other period was our downfall. Mitch K and Jordan provided the offence in a 6-2 loss, but the game was closer then the score makes it out to be.
The second game was against Lucknow, and lucky it was as we produced a 5-2 win. Jordan with 2, Mitch K , Tie, and Austin potted all the goals for the Ice Dogs, who played a well rounded game in all points of the game and we moved on to the consolation final.
Kincardine was our next team to face, and for the first period -and-a-half we played a nice team game, doing all the right things a team should do. Then our usual period let-down kicked in and the wheels fell off for a bit which produced a 6-2 loss, with Jordan and Tie putting in the goals.

Sunday had us in Tiverton, and the first period was a rough and tumble affair, with clean body checks and lots of hustle.
The second period was our downfall as we let Tiverton get past us with some end to end rushes and they ended the period up 2-0.
The third period had us shooting more, and hitting more (right Mitch K ), plus some nice passing and with that Tie tucked in a corner goal, followed by that with a end- to- end rush by Mitch VV, who wristed a top shelf goal to tie it 2-2. But a bad one minute, and Tiverton scored two late goals, which ended the game with a 4-2 loss.
We played a very good game and the score maybe was for the wrong team, as we were close to winning the game.
