Well Deserved Win in Last Game of 2019!
The Atom Rep IceDogs were coming out of the Christmas Holiday and ending 2019 with a game against neighbouring TCDMHA.
The IceDogs were a little sluggish to start this one as they struggled to find their rhythm. The Rebels are a fast checking team and they did it to perfection as they kept the IceDogs to the outside and struggling to find their speed. But, as the period was in its waining mements, you could sense the game was changing and the ice was tilted at the first period buzzer.
The second period saw some great IceDog opportunities thwarted by a red-hot Rebel tendy. A couple of IceDog powerplays resulted in glorious chances but they couldn't dent the twine. Peyton L. in the IceDog net was tested a few times too but he was equal to the task. With the IceDogs humming all over the Rebel zone, the period would end with this game still knotted a zeroes.
You knew the hard-working IceDogs would get rewarded sooner than later with their consistent pressure and it happened in the third. Owen M. would net a rebound off a huge Carter G. drive to break the goose egg. Than, Ethan S. would walk in off a Carter M. pass and rip one to get the IceDogs the 2-0 lead. Ethan would collect his 2nd of the game when Karden C. would deliver a terrific pass and the IceDogs were pouring it on now. The newly annointed line of Jesse-Brayden and Ian were a checking machine and had several chances to score as well. The IceDogs would skate away with a very well deserved 3-0 win. Full marks to the D corps of Hudson, Owen W., Karden C. and Simon J. as they were huge contributors to the shutout by Peyton. This was a team win in every sense of the word.
Great work IceDogs! Enjoy ringing in the New Year but we have one more big game left to end the regular season....let's come ready to play this Thursday night in T-Town vs the Lakers of Shallow Lake.
