Novice Rep Ice Dogs Take on Bruce Peninsula Predators
The tough luck Novice Rep Ice Dogs made the snowy drive up Highway 6 worth it for their fans and family on Saturday afternoon as the took on the Bruce Peninsula Predators.

These Ice Dogs have been playing some tremendous hockey lately and were looking for a little more "puck luck" as they took the ice.  Coach Dan had the boys fired up for this one and they came out flying.  They bombarded the Predator goalie with shots and a lot of near misses that almost ended up in the back of the net.  The Preds were a little shell shocked at first and took a while to get their bearings as the Ice Dogs showed no mercy inside the offensive end zone.  However, the Preds found an opening late in the first and slipped a couple by Ice Dog tender Peyton L. and were leading 2-0 at the first intermission.

The Ice Dogs were determined not to let this game get away on them and again came out flying to start the 2nd period.  A couple of times they were hemmed in their own end but kept the Preds to the outside and didn't allow the Preds to get to the net.  The Predators made a few adjustments and began to look for tip in goals and crowded the Ice Dog crease.  The strategy worked and they were out in front 3-0 at the 2nd intermission.

The Ice Dogs knew if they could just get one goal they would be off and running and that is exactly what happened.  Landon B., who missed high on an earlier rush, fired a low hard blast that squeaked under the pads of the Predators goalie and the Ice Dogs were on the board.  Owen M. got the assist on the play with a beautiful chip pass out of his own end to send Landon in alone.  Then the cousins went to work as Ethan S. ripped one from the top of the circle after Brayden P stripped a Predator player of the puck along the half-wall.  Anderson G. would complete the comeback with a another hard, low drive after Cole L. and Ethan combined on a beauty break out of their own end.  Things were looking good for the Ice Dogs but the Preds are a tough team and they would seal this one with another screened shot that eluded the Ice Dog goalie.

The coaches, fans and family were sure treated to some great hockey on a Saturday afternoon and the Ice Dogs showed they are a force to be reckoned with in the coming weeks.  Team play and doing the little things right is going to win them some hockey games in the near future!  Great job 'Dogs!
